each of these towns have their own art/handicrafts that it is known for such as wood carving and silver works.

if our family was leaving sanur around 3pm and heading north towards ubud would we still be able to see some of these places or would they already be shutting down for the day?

thank you very much for help

You would have 3 - 3.5 hours before those that have outdoor stores would close as that is when it gets dark.

Some of the silver shops in Celuk may stay open after dark, but I don't know of any off the top of my head. All the others would almost definitely close by the time it gets dark.

Most places were closed. We were traveling South at about 4pm from Kintamani back to Seminyak.

A few of the bigger silver shops were open. Otherwise, just go into any of the village shops. They will remain open even if it means turning on the lights again.

At least try to go to Sukawati Market. It had a huge selection of tourist handicrafts. It wasnt very fine handicraft, but was ok if you are looking for gifts.
