Which area/s of bali should we visit?

Looking at going to Bali in April 2011 with my husband and some friends (late 20's early 30's). We will go for just over a week and don't want to move around too much, so either the whole time in one place or split the time in half for two locations.

We would like to spend time during the day sightseeing/doing cultural things, doing adventurous stuff and relaxing by a pool/on a beach. At night we want to be able to have a few drinks and enjoy the nightlife (not necessarily every night though).

In terms of accommodation we're looking mid-range. We don't need 5 star, but can afford it to be relatively nice.

So,which areas of the island do people recommend we stay? Also, does anyone have recommendations of particular accommodation in these places?

use kuta/legian/seminyah area as a base. if wet season is still running go to sanur side.

they are lots of tour agencies that offer lots of things to do. see them when you get there.

on the right pane of this window are answers to anumber of your questions.

also buy lonely planet bali to get an idea of the place - places to stay and visit.

It sounds to me that you are describing Seminyak. I would start here.

As RT suggests use the Top Questions about Bali section (top right of this page) as a research guide for day trips and things to do.
