Secret Garden - Chemical Hair Straightening?

Has anyone been to the Secret Garden recently to have their hair chemically straightened eg Bionics?

Yes, I've been to the Secret Garden a couple of times. I have thick wavy hair prone to disaster when humidity strikes. Ask for "Margi" - he is fantastic. Unfortunately the salon was closed during my last visit to Bali in June 2011; otherwise I would have had "Margi" do his magic. Highly recommended. Be warned, after the treatment, you cannot wash your hair/swim for a couple of days - otherwise well worth it ! Get it done, you won't regret it. Good luck !

Thanks Elizabeth! I'll visit them on the first day & go back for the treatment on the last day! How long does it last & how much did they charge? Also, how long did the treatment take?

Hi Gemma. Process takes about 3 hours (I have fairly long hair). Cost approx. AU$100 depending on exchange rate. Lasts about 4-5 months. Margi uses Wella products (don't know whether it's a "bionic" treatment). Hair not only looks better but feels great. You can walk out of the salon with full confidence - humidity, rain, etc will not frizz/curl/wave your hair. I love Margi - he is just gorgeous and a fantastic hairdresser. Be warned, Margi only works at the salon a couple of days a week, so book in advance to avoid disappointment. When do you plan on travelling to Bali?

hi

I am interesting in doing this as well but I'm worried about what condition it leaves your hair in?. My hair is fine textured but i have a lot of it, its shoulder length.

also, does having colour in your hair have an effect?

We are heading over in a few weeks and i have enquired regarding booking a time with Margi

any advice would be great!

Regards

Narelle

Hi Narelle

I also have colour in my hair - no problem. Margi has straightened and coloured my hair on the same day. Condition was great. Highly recommended. Let me know how it goes. You too Gemma !

Cheers

Elizabeth

PS Soooooooooo jealous - love BALI !!

i have had it done twice and amm very happy. if itsnot too late maybe move appointment to end of trip as I always get told no swimming, hats or hair ties for 48 hours once it is done.... and no washing for 3 days... so i normally go on last day
