Parking is available just outside the monastery and there are a number of small shops for eating. A little further down the road is a hotel.

A sarong is needed to enter the monastery. These can be hired for a donation at the entrance.

The monastery is situated in a high position with excellent views over the valley and down towards the sea. The monastery is tiered and pretty. Each tier contains a number of small and/or large temples and gardens. The various tiers are connected by paths and steps.

it is a very pretty place and well worth the visit.

Best points: pretty, great views, very quiet.

Worse points: none

they run various courses and you can stay there

Hi Lulyhippo. The Brahmaviara Arama Buddhist Monastery is at Tegeha, Banjar, Buleleng Regency. It is not a tourist attraction so entrance into it is free. You do need a sarong to enter and if you hav'nt got one you can borrow one free of charge. If you would like to make a donation, it is gratefully accepted.

It is in the hills behind Lovina with a great view to the ocean. There is a nearby ashram where visitors can stay.

I would not go all the way up there just to see the monastery but if you are staying in the area, it is worth a look.
