Accommodation advice

Going to Bali/ Gili islands for a couple of weeks mid way through general travels around south east asia, and trying to do it on as small a budget as possible... Done good research on transport around the island, but still in the dark aboutt accommodation.

1. Does anyone have any suggestions for very cheap hostels in the south Bali area - kuta, jimbaran ect?

2. Also planning to be on gili t for a week, so does anyone know the cheapest place to stay there...

3. We are arriving in Depesar at 11.35 at night, whats the best plan at that time in bali.. should we travel down to kuta region of stay in depesar that night?

4. and laastly, how easy is it to find hostels in bali/gili. should we book anything for the first nights ect to avoid stress ect?

Any answers would be hugely appreciated!

thankyou!

Can answer # 3..Denpasar airport (Ngurah Rai airport) is approximately 30 minutes from Kuta (at that time of night) and so, it's straight forward to go through to Kuta.

Hi Alex,

It very much depends on when you are visiting Bali as to whether you need to book accommodation beforehand. At peak times it can be very busy. There are fixed price taxis from the airport & it's approx 30 mins drive to Kuta/Legian,probably less at that time of night. I'd suggest booking somewhere for at least the 1st night.

Here's a link to Mics Bali Forum with links for accommodation, bottom right link will bring up other areas of Bali. If you post again giving approx how much you want to spend per night you'll probabably get some suggestions for low budget accommodation.

Bookings.com also cover Bali so you could have a look there.
