Just off the plane in Perth after three nights in Seminyak and three in Sanur. Caught the 0730'ish flight from Perth - about 20 minutes to get through the customs queue in Perth. Flew Jetsar both ways and they were spot on. From getting out of our seats (paid extra for 1A and 1B) in Bali, we were in a taxi in 11 minutes - our personal best! A Garuda plane landed about the same time(I think also a Perth flight) but it appeared they had not been given the inbound immigration forms on the plane, and they missed valuable time filling in their paperwork! First in the queue for VOA, immigration, and straight out the door. A lot of work going on at the airport but no delays. Out into the traffic which is probably the worst we've experienced in Bali. Were there last year at the end of Ramadan when lots of Indonesians come to Bali for holidays, but wasn't as bad as this year. Stayed out of Kuta whenever possible and when we had to go in we went in early and left early as well. Three nights at Tamukami in Sanur which we enjoyed - good value for money and will review separately. Best meal at Ratatouile, best beer at warung on the beach just outside Peneeda View where friends were staying, best cultural experience watching a cremation ceremony winding its way through Sanur, and best non-cultural experience watching the Dockers flog Richmond at White Sands Bar. Then up to Seminyak for three nights at Uma Sapna villas - the first place we've stayed twice in Bali. Loved the accommodation - and enjoyed a 50th birthday party just up the road with friends sharing a very flash villa with three other couples. Best meal at Warung Italia - cheap as - but we were hanging out for a good pizza. Also enjoyed Zula which is great for vegetarians. Did Potatohead, La Lucciola, and other higher end places last visit so didn't bother this time. 9500 to 9700 RP to the AUD while we were there, was very dry - no rain throughout, and if you're there in the next few days, think twice before going into Kuta if you can avoid it. The traffic is nuts. Especially late afternoon and evening when everyone's trying to see the Kuta sunset. Today we left plenty of time to get through the queues at the airport - but there weren't any! A longer walk from the taxi drop off point to the departures area than we have experienced in the past due to new construction work, but after that it was plain sailing. Great flight back but it's COLD in Perth! Have a ball if you're heading over there.
