1st Time Bali - Itinerary guidance for a 3rd location

This is our first trip to Bali this coming August and we've already selected our first and last locations, but am having a challange determining where to stay for 3 nights in the middle of the trip.

August 3-6 Ayana Resort - Jimbaran Bay

August 6-9 ????

August 9-12 Royal Pita Maha (want to save the best for last)

We enjoy the beach as long as there are mountains and/or lush surroundings, and we love the views around Munduk or Damai near Lovina which has stunning scenery (and maybe terraced rice fields) but iwe won't have a car and will hire a driver as needed. We've also considered Pemuteran but am wondering if this area is too dry and not as pretty as remainder of Bali in August. Budget for these 3 remaining nights is $200-$275 per night. Any ideas or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Candi Dasa or Amed would be ideal.

Hi..

You might check at Sambirenteng Area, there is accommodation called Alam Anda which is located on the beach off and has such lush vegetation around and you could see Mount Agung too...

last time, a friend of mine from Germany stayed at Villa Manuk north of Bali. The area is called Bebetin village. This villa is located within the rural village and the only one around. The stunning mountain and rice field views are rewarded daily. Trekking to Sekumpul waterfall is a great activity you might do..

hope this gives you idea,

Thanks to all for your suggestions which led me to discover while researching Eastern Bali, the incredibly beautiful Sideman Valley. We just booked a bungalow at the Samanvaya which looks incredible and is relatively new (opened July 2012) with only 6 bungalows www.samanvaya-bali.com. This appears to be about 30 minutes from the beach but it is absolutely stunning and will hopefully be a great base for exploring East Bali. Now we have to wait 6 months before enjoying what we know will be an incredible holiday in Bali!

Joe - We will visit Munduk as part of a day trip from Ubud, as we are staying 4 nights in Ubud at the Royal Pita Maha. Amed will be visited as part of a day trip from Sideman Valley. Only place that may be difficult to fit in is Pemuteran as I think this may be too far for a day trip. Does anyone know how for this is fromm Ubud or Sideman Valley as it appears this could be a challanging day trip? Thank you.

hi judy.....you may want to try looking for a hotel of your choice located in Ubud which is central Bali........its quite green in these parts, very tropical, has great market style shopping and lots of arts and jewellery.

Hi Wayne - Yes Ubud is high priority for us and the Royal Pita Maha is in Ubud and this will be our last 4 nights. I'm not a shopper but I do like the art and culture aspect of Bali, and we're more into exploring, relaxing along with a little adventure. Only wish the trip wasn't so far away, all this research and looking at the beautiful photos from all parts of Bali makes me wish we could leave tomorrow!
