Have read a report that they predict Bali in August / September will bring unusual High Tides and windy conditions. Hope this is not to accurate. Off to the Island in 2 weeks time for some R&R

Anything new on this topic?

Maybe the storm was confined to a glass of water?

Hi we came back from Bali on Saturday and did a trip to Nusa Penida with Bali Hai while there and it was very rough out at sea! If you do suffer from travel sickness, I recommend a quick trip to the Apotik (excuse spelling) for travel sickness tablets, was 10,000 well spent!!

This was our only cloudy day too, Crystal Bay was rough and it looked as though it was fairly difficult to snorkel due to the swell in the bay, plus getting on and off the little transfer boat was a bit hair raising, but aside from that, it was a lovely trip and well worth it!!

Motion sickness tablets already bought and ready KathLee :)

Not sure if I regret my choice in speed boat company for our Sanur - Lembongan - Gili Air tour after reading this thread...

Hi Jon - the responses on the thread you've linked to may not be a completely representative picture. Of course people are going to gripe about a rough crossing, or a crossing taking 30 mins longer than anticipated. If someone tells you that the crossing was utterly boring, uneventful and arrived on time, it does not make for an interesting anecdote. For every person who has a negative experience and posts on the internet, there will be a much greater proportion who had a positive experience and are too busy getting on with enjoying themselves to post on the internet that their journey was okay.

Note that the very small number of complaints were about the weather, which is not under the control of the boat company. This is like someone giving a bad review of a hotel because it rained while they stayed there.

Yep in Bali myself and must admit the Weather is just nice. Light breeze of an afternoon and not over hot at all. I am glad the weather prediction was not right at the moment.
