We are thinking of going to Bali in February next year but do not want to spend a full 2 weeks just lying around the pool/beach.
Looking through the forum, Sanur looks like the kind of beach resort we are looking for, a nice hotel or villa close enough to walk to a variety of restaurants for dinner. Ubud also looks interesting to see some sights.
We will be away for 14 nights including travelling time and after the long flight from England don't want to spend too long travelling between places. Our original plan was to go to Kuala Lumpur for a few days before Bali, but now considering skipping that and just going straight to Bali and staying in Ubud for a few days before going to Sanur.
My questions are:
How long to spend in each place?
Is there a third place within Bali that would be worth splitting it into a three centre trip for? (or is it worth a trip to another island?)
I realise that it is the rainy season in February but am hoping this means short heavy showers and that there will be plenty of sunbathing time - is that correct? (We prefer a pool to the beach)
Is it worth having a hotel with a pool in Ubud or are we more likely to be out all day and not get chance to use it (this is what we happen in a city hotel) or are the attractions close by to do some half day trips?
