Where to stay

We are a family of 4, and are travelling on a budget. Where is a reasonable priced place to stay in Bali? Which area is the safest for children? and how much spending money is recommended for a 2 week holiday?

Sanur is a great spot, calm seas so good for kids.

Budget wise I think you can find accommodation for all budgets in most places.

We enjoyed Tuban/ South Kuta. Lots of action but no clubs. Ferbis is a budget hotel in a good spot. Haven't stayed there as we went a little more expensive but in hindsight I wouldn't spend a lot on acc as you only sleep there. As long as it's clean which I believe Ferbis is. We spent $3000 roughly for 10 days. We did almost $1000 in tours etc... Expensive meal for 4 would be around $70. Cheap $30 or less. We shopped a Miss Debbies(fixed price) and spent $250 and we had more bags of stuff than we could carry! We didn't really watch what we spent so Im guessing you could spend a lot less.

What type of holiday do you want.

Full on party central like equivalent to Cavill Ave or somewhere more beachy and relaxed like Tugan. Or maybe something up in the hills like the Hinterland?

Once we know what you want we can give you some more informed advice.

While there are plenty of people sharing where they like to go and what works for you, it might not be what you want.

Along with knowing what type of holiday you are wanting, busy, relaxed, touring, beach, mountain etc... an idea of how much your accommodation budget is will get you a good range of recommendations for hotels in your price range..... happy planning :)
