Where are some pristine beaches in Bali?

Hi Folks,

Iv been browsing about Bali for some time now. But I am unable to find any pristine clear beaches. I was thinking along the lines of Krabi(Thailand) or Maldives or Boracay (Phillippines) where there are white sand beaches with emerald blue shallow waters.

Please suggest me some Bali beaches such as these.

Bali beaches are not like the places you have listed at all.

There are a few very nice beaches like Padang Padang but in general Bali isn't the place you are describing.

Maybe you should look at the Gili Islands off Lombok which are easily accessible from Bali, nothing like the Maldives but the water & sand is pretty nice.

There are some small pristine beaches on the south coast.

Chennai,

You won't find beaches like that in Bali at all. The beaches here at most, are beigy and not white sand as the ones you went to. And since the current is quite strong, most are not clear at all.

Yup, there's no such beach in bali..

The best bet is Padang Padang, but you have to go there on the right time. Not the rainy season, because it will get dirty with all the trash that drifted ashore.

Padang Padang in my opinion is the only beach in the south where you can really swim.

The other one is Uluwatu/Suluban beach, but only when the tide is low.. Its so beatiful, but you can not swim there, too many reef.

As everyone has explained, Bali does not have that sort of beach. If you jump on a plane, 30 minutes away is South Lombok which has bay after bay of beautiful unspoiled white sand beaches with lovely blue/green waters. Check out Kuta Lombok and Selong Belanak for places to stay. Both are close to the airport. There is also Lombok's gilis, small islands off the coast of Lombok. 3 in the north of Lombok are well known and have a developed tourist industry. There are also many other lesser known gilis, some in south west Lombok have places to stay. All are white sand islands with clear water, and coral for snorkelling. Flights to Lombok are around $30 - $40 one way

Thanks for all the info guys. That was very helpful.

Lombok/Gili islands looks interesting. But is flight the only way to get there? Can't we get there by boats?

Yes you can get there by boat but depending on what time of year you are going it can be very, very rough.

Flights are cheap and often safer.
