Countdown, some villas may be in groups so have similar photos but different names and owners. I am currently staying in a villa which is in a group of 4! They are all listed by the owners on flipkey but you can also book through booking agents such as booking.com

The google map positions are terrible and you are much better off looking up the address to see what it is near as I have found they actual position to always be nowhere near where they are pinned on google maps.

All I can suggest is if you find one you like mention it here to get others opinions or message ilab who has a wealth of knowledge about different villas.

Nothing wrong with a *little* paranoia.

Flipkey is basically a 'free for all', and despite whatever they claim, it's actually no more reliable than a classified ad in your local news paper. You could register a tent in a public park as 5 Star accommodation, name it as a property amongst a 'group' and trade as you like. Nobody would be the wiser.

It simply reiterates the need for a lot of research, groundwork and referrals in the forums.

I stayed at Villa Lalu last year which is managed by Natan Hospitality. They were very professional and if you have concerns, I would shoot them an email.

Hi Countdown

Natan Hospitality is an agent which has been operating for several years in Bali and you can trust them. If you can deal directly with the villa owner you may get a cheaper rate but you are probably better off dealing with Natan if you are at all worried.

Cheers

Hi countdown, sorry I don't know this villa but why don't you sen an email to Natan and ask the question? To me it looks as though there would be glass as the whole living area looks as though it can be locked up.

Cheers
