Immigration processing

Hi there!

My partner and I are going to Jakarta from Auckland via Singapore on SQ in late January 2011. Both on NZ passports and eligible for VOA.

I know things change all the time, but if it's around the same time next year, and our plane is due to land around 10pm - how long is the immigration and arrival processing at CGK airport?

We are thinking of hiring a Fast Track Immigration services to speed this up. Is it worth it?

Many thanks.

10pm arrival should not be a problem, at VOA counter and immigration, you only need to deal with passengers coming in with Qatar Airways (A330), Emirates (B777), Malaysia Airlines (B737), and couple AirAsia and Valuair flights from Singapore (A320s). This is the current situation now.

The VOA would take around 15-30mins average (depending on how many counter opens).

Immigration quite speedy, you can clear within 10-20mins.

Anyway, just out of curiosity, which company do provide the Fast Track services, because the one that I know of only provides fast track for its members.

Ic... But in order to use the fast track service, you need to also use his chauffeur service, isn't it? That would cost: USD25 (for the chauffeured service) + USD30 for fast track immigration.

I suggest to confirm with the service, of what's included in the fast track (because it's only said meet at aircraft, immigration, and escort to car without mentioning you'll be fast tracked as well through VOA). In general, you should be more worried about the VOA queue lines rather than the immigration queue.

My personal opinion: suit your needs. If you're coming on a business and having a meeting first thing in the morning (therefore need to have enough rest after arrival), then you can opt the fast track service (USD30 is quite a lot for Jakartan standards). But if you're just on leisure and you can wait for the lines, maybe you can save up the money for other things. It's not as bad as in New York, but definitely not so breeze as in Singapore.

Thanks cirque

Yeah, we are considering to use his chauffeur service for a few days. Just thought it was also a nice idea to fasten the immigration processing.

Will ask him about VOA/Immigration, like you suggested.

We are on leisure generally, but are never big fans of long queues.

Thanks again. :-)

The site seems to me ILLEGITIMATE and nothing like official paying taxes company. Overall impression it is sort of personal page, the owner (same face at the separate window and on the driver`s position in the car) refers to the visitors with the constant phrase *I will be*, *I will wait* ect. the REAL company would definitely use the lines like *our representative will meet you...*

Prices are given in USD, the official company would quote their charges in IDR with possible government tax mentioned (included or excluded from the price).

I would not use this service, as clearly NONE of Jakarta DEs heard about it before.

Additionally I can tell you a story (of some time ago) when a couple of foreign businessmen (Europeans) were INVITED to Jakarta via INTERNET (one, an architect tempted by a lucrative offer of working for some private project, the second, a merchant, looking for reasonable price textiles and factory contacts). Both were MET at the airport, escorted to their cars with a driver - THEN TAKEN HOSTAGES with possibility of one phone call to relatives. As anyone may predict, MONEY fast transfer was demanded.

How do you like my story???

Hi,

I wouldn't worry getting vip clearance.

Your post said you are flying SQ which means you are able to select your seat in advance.

What I always do in this case is select a seat as close to the main cabin exit as possible, which means I get off the plane as quickly as possible. This means I am amongst the first through immigration.
