Tokyo & Osaka

My boyfriend & I have a plan to go Tokyo on 23-28 & Osaka on 28-30April & the worst is i've no idea about Japan T_T

im wasting 3days in searching good location hotel (tripadvisor, booking.com, Agoda.com, kayak.com) my budget is below US $100.

I want to find a hotel that next to the train station (can use JR pass).

Thanks a lot for helping...

Hi there just another idea is to check out the hostel booking sites, Many of the hostels have double rooms, some with ensuite. Check out hostelbookers as they dont charge a booking fee. In Osaka I stayed in a hotel that was really cheap call hotel Raisan south. . Admitedly it could have done with some serious renovation and the area was a bit weird but it was comfortable enough and right next to two trains stations. A subway and jr station. The best part about this place was the staff. They will make phone calls for you, they will print out infor for you and help you with just about anything you need. It was the most helpful and friendly staff I ever came across. Actually the place had rave reviews from just about everybody that stayed there.

good luck and have a great trip

Toyoko Inn is a reliable business hotel chain with double rooms around 8,000 to 9,000 Yen.

Search for Super Hotel, Toyoko Inn, Flexstay / Mystays Inn, Keio Presso, Tokyu Stay, Dormy Inn, APA Hotel.

Access their homepage and compare with the prices offered at Jalan and Rakuten hotel booking sites that are two major booking sites in Japan.

Mystays Asakusabashi and Toyoko Inn Akiba Asakusabashi Higashiguchi were quite okay. In Tokyo, Ikebukuro and Ueno are one of the central parts of Tokyo that have budget hotels.

If you're on a tight budget, you might not find a place close to a JR station, but the extensive subway system in Tokyo will take you lots of places for under 200 yen (I'm not familiar with Osaka, but my guess is that the same is true there).

Here is an example from Toyoko Inn, the chain that Sammyfloyd mentioned. This one is near four subway lines: www.toyoko-inn.com/e_hotel/00081/index.html www.toyoko-inn.com/e_hotel/00081/map.html I've never stayed there, but it's near a nice garden http://www.japan-guide.com/e/e3034_003.html , a decent free observation deck at the Bunkyo-ku Civic Center and the Tokyo Dome complex http://www.japan-guide.com/e/e3039.html

You will be using a seven-day JR Pass? You would activate it to cover your travels from Tokyo to Osaka and back? Consider the Suica/N'Ex deal, which includes travel from Narita Airport and a prepaid card for travel in the the Tokyo area. Look halfway down this page: http://www.japan-guide.com/e/e2359_002.html
