Help with 1 week itinerary

We're planning to go to Japan and we're torn between flying to and from Osaka, or to and from Tokyo. Reason being is that Osaka has cheaper flights from our country compared to Tokyo Narita. We definitely want to include either Tokyo Disneyland or Tokyo DisneySea (1 whole day), and do some food and culture trips. Is Osaka-Tokyo-Osaka worth the airfare savings or better to just focus on Tokyo and nearby areas? Thanks!

Are you planning on visiting the Osaka area regardless? Otherwise, just factor the train cost - it's a bout 30,000 yen Osaka-Tokyo round trip.

Include Tokyo Haneda in your airfare search as well.

Thanks! We'll probably just take a Tokyo Narita flight. Would we still need a JR pass if we're just going to go around Tokyo and nearby areas?

Not the national weekly pass. But if you do enough day trips, the JR Kanto Area Pass usually pays off - http://www.japan-guide.com/e/e2361_06.html .
