Where to spend new years 2013?

Hi guys!

In late December this year I will be taking a trip to Philippines and we cannot decide where to spend new years.

We were thinking Manila or Cebu.

While I've spent many new years celebrations in the Philippines it has always been with my family in our province.

If we are going to be in Manila we will be staying at Shangri-la Edsa or the Marriot depending which location would be better, and Cebu we may be staying in Be Resorts but always open to other suggestions.

So my question to my TA friends out there, where can two young blokes enjoy a young/hip new years party?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Cheers!

If you haven't been inside a popcorn-making pan for at least 5 hrs, stay in Manila.

Mh, I'm not joking.

Anybody who spent NewYr in Manila will attest to that, be it in Manila, QC, Pasay or say the whole Metro Manila.

In fact, popcorn-making-machine is an understatement. Its like there is a war, if you've seen Vietnam War movies.

Boracay. There's a great atmosphere, plenty of beachside bars, friendly people, and a spectacular one hour long fireworks display at midnight that spans the length of White Beach.

I agree with Edwinic. I was there last New Year and there were fireworks 360 degrees around me. The noise was incredible. I took some great videos.

#1, where in Tablas Island will the 'young and hip' new years party be held, out of curiousity?
