www.asiatravel.com has some excellent Metro Manila accommodation deals.

This mystery hotel 'Crazy Rate' is for the Somerset Millenium in the business centre of Makati:

The Fersal Hotel in Neptune Street, Makati is pretty basic and cheaper than the one above, but it is across a main road from the Padre Burgos Street nightlife area:

When you say nightlife, what exactly do you mean? The decent version or the not so decent version?

In Boracay, Nightlife = clean night life where you can go with your girlfriend

In most other popular tourist spots of Phils, nightlife = shady bars with red lights.

Hence do be careful.

Even Boracay has it shady part of nightlife.

So open your eyes when you go but since you are with your girlfriend, then she will be the firewall. :p

@ MH

Big difference... Boracay shady night life is tucked in those 2-3 discos.

But the shady night life in many other places is "on your face" ! Like PG, Angeles, even Manila (Ermita - yuck!).

The places I found truly devoid of this sort of nonsense were Tagaytay, Camotes, Siquijor, Bacolod city, Silay, Vigan, Malapascua. Hence I will always have a soft corner for them.

YLOO,

Agree that Boracay shady nightlife is more discreet.

That is why I said go with your eyes open.

Try Summer Place after 11pm.... :p

Yep - I know .. .I was at one of the most popular (and highly rated on TA) discos .... the ladies of the night were there since 8 pm.

The point I was trying to make is that it is far more obvious (perhaps "on the face" is a more appropriate phrase) at many other tourist spots - Puerto gallera and Angeles spring to the mind.

When you see a paunchy lolo with a 18 year old lithesome Filipina, you know you are not at a decent place. Unfortunately, this is a normal sight at a number of popular tourist spots.

Wow, you have the more accurate info than me about Summer Place.

Glad I "exhibit" myself there only after 11pm else you would have spotted me.....
