Nicest beach?

Hi everyone, I'd like to go to the Philippines for a beach holiday. There are so many islands I don't know which one to pick. I'm basically looking for white sand, good snorkeling and relax. I'd choose something not turistic. Could anyone help?

Boracay, El Nido, Siquijor Bohol to name a few.

Have a good read of the FAQs as Clare suggested. Also look at the FAQ to the right on

**Great Filipino travel videos?**

This will give you a visual and from there you can make a shortlist.

Are you looking for Touristy Beaches or more quiet isolated beaches?

If you are looking for something that is quiet and not full of tourists, cross Boracay off your list immediately.

For something quieter , consider some of the above, Siquijor has some great quiet beaches and is a beautiful island to travel around, likewise Bohol has a few quiet beaches such as Anda and some not so quiet but still enjoyable such as Alona beach.

A great beach with not much to do though is Sugar beach in Sipalay, Negros, very relaxing place.

There is always a line between a great quiet awesome beach and available facilities just remember that that. If you still want decent accommodation and good restos, it is harder to find these on some of the Philippines most awesome beaches

I like Bounty beach but no snorkel in front of the beach.

I'm checking out the places you mentioned and I have to agree with PHoenix242, the beaches listed do not seem to have good resorts, they're pretty ordinary. I do not expect extra luxury, but when you go on holidays is nice to have comfort and especcially a great room. I'll keep looking anyway

There is certainly no shortage of world class beach resorts in the Philippines. FAQs right has lots of useful information so please read up. This thread (and listed under the beach FAQ) is about The Best 5 Star Resorts in the Philippines.

I agree with Tommo, there are some excellent places to stay, however you said you wanted something that was not too touristy, that is the trade off in most countries, if you want a quiet beach you are not going to get excellent accommodation and good restaurants, these can only be sustained by a decent number of paying tourists.

Siquijor has a few great places to stay including Coco Grove, and Alona beach also has some good choices.

If you want an isolated beach, that is what you will get, some of the best beaches in the Philippines have camping only options, or homestays, because they are quiet and no development has happened thankfully

My husband and I were just in the Philippines a few weeks ago. I would suggest going to Pagudpud, Ilocos Norte. There is a beach close to Hannah's resort. The place is very secluded and not very touristy. You could actually relax and enjoy the white sandy beach.
