Documentary about Philippines Travel - Locations Needed!!

Ok, So I'm making a film about travel in the philippines.. For a number of reasons but one of them is that I believe the Phils is going to be the next big travel desitation in South East Asia. Because so far I've noticed it's cheap, very easy to travel and a great culture that a westerner can slot right into. Not to mention great scuba diving and awesome beaches.

So what I would like to ask is the opinion of people here of places that are very beautiful and are going to make some good shots for me for the video.. Just all around great places to visit..

Please don't mention Boracay or Coron or El Nido as these are astute and I will be visting these for sure.

I've been to Bohol and most of Cebu so far. So please fire away with anywhere else you can recommened.

Here is a sample of the video I took from Malapascua. All footage is my own..

thanks in advance

I made a video of Malapascua not long before typhoon Yolanda. I should hurry to get it uploaded so people can compare.

Must film islands with multiple things to see and do that I suggest you visit are Siquijor, Biliran and Camiguin. They have waterfalls, volcanos and other sites of interest. All have diving too..

Other locations that you might consider are the Camotes and Leyte.

Leyte has some spectacular scenery in multiple locations. You will see what I mean in the north as you travel to Biliran. Biliran is joined to northern Leyte by a bridge. The scenery for the last 20 kilometres or so before you cross over to Biliran is spectactular. Padre Burgos in southern Leyte is a diving mecca. The scenery in that area is spectacular too. Off the coast of Palompon Leyte is Kalanggaman Island. Several cruise ships visiting the Philippines last year weighed anchor close by and the passengers got off and picnicked there. There is no actual accommodation but you can camp.

Batanes for me is the most photogenic province in this country. I have yet to see bad reviews about Batanes. You may Google for blogs and articles on Batanes to know what I mean.

Beaches near Glan (55 kilometres or so from General Santos City, Mindanao) are beautiful.

I also recommend Siquijor: totally uncrowded white sand beaches.

Great video of Malapascua and thanks for updating me my favourite island in the Philippines.

You can consider Iligan and Siargao.

Go also to Puerto Galera for beaches, diving etc the best diving spot there is Verde Island.

Quickest way would be to fly from Cebu to Siargao with Cebu Pacific.

As for your video I would include a good variety of places not just beaches.

A few suggestions.

Banaue Rice Terraces, Ifugao

Chocolate Hills & Tarsiers, Bohol

Hundred Islands, Pangasinan

Intramuros, Manila

Vigan (Spanish architecture), Ilocos Sur

Mayon Volcano, Albay

Taal Volcano, Batangas Province

Baguio, Benguet

Donsol whale sharks, Sorsogon

I think Batanes is a good shout too as visually it is different from the rest of the country. Imagine Scotland in the South China Sea.

----------------------------------------------------------------

I prefer to travel by boat within the Philippines. I have travelled between Surigao City and Cebu City with Cokaliong. Specifically on Filipins Dapitan, which is still operating on that route.

cokaliongshipping.com/schedules_and_rates/ce…

In Surigao City, you can travel to Siargo island by bangka boat. They have double decker banka boats operating between the 2 locations. That should give you some special for your video. Also from Surigao City, you can travel by double decker bangka boat to Dinagat island. Dinagat island is relatively undeveloped but has spectacular scenery.

Bataan (mt samat) (nature, pawikan, camaya, other beaches) (nuclear plant)(churches)(las casas) and corregidor for historical aspect. Since bataan is short, tours usually connected to subic and zambales.
