Hi there! I'm sure your post will create endless discussions on where the best beach is.

IMO, a good option is...

With less than an hour and a half total travel time by air, boat and land, you can be in Boracay! There's a Seair (www.flyseair.com) flight to Boracay that leaves Manila at 6:00am and you'll be in Caticlan by around 6:45. A short ride to the pier, a boat ride under 20 minutes and a few more minutes ride to your resort, you can have breakfast on the beach by 8am!

As for where to stay in Boracay, oh well, that's one of the hardest decisions to make with all the choices available.

Your best bet if you want to travel by car from Manila would be the beaches of Batangas. You can look into the resorts in San Juan, Batangas. Check out

http://www.virginbeachresort.com/

You can also research on the following resorts in the area:

BALAY SA LAIYA

KABAYAN

BLUE CORAL

Travel to San Juan Batangas would take you 2.5 to 3 hrs drive depending on traffic.

Another option from Manila would be the beaches of Puerto Galera which would require you to travel by land and sea.

That's the downside of travelling by land from Manila. Taking a short planetrip would bring you to the beaches of Boracay, Cebu, or Bohol much faster.

Hi Oasis!

I think the right question should be: Where are the best beaches in the Philippines?

As you will know, Philippines is an archipelagic country with so many islands to hop around from Luzon to Visayas to Mindanao. Visayas which is at the central part of the country comprising three regions Western Visayas, Central Visayas and Eastern Visayas - is actually where the best beaches in the country can be found. Except for Palawan which is being grouped into Luzon, Visayas boasts its world class resort island of Boracay (Province of Aklan, Western Visayas), Panglao Island (Province of Bohol, Central Visayas) and the recently developed Calicoan Island (Province of Eastern Samar, Eastern Visayas).

There are also other island beaches that are less known but almost equally as beautiful as these three islands. The best thing about this islands are they are not as crowded as Boracay and Panglao.

Aside from its beautiful beaches, Visayas also boasts of so many dive sites, surfing sites in Eastern Samar, cultural festivals and historical sites. Most of the tourists go to the Visayas regions to experience the bests of the Philippines.

You can easily get there - by plane, by land or by ship.

Where is the best beach depends on your expectations. Are you looking for a pristine deserted beach or a place with restaurants and bars?

try laluz beach resort in san juan batangas. its not a hotel accomodation but rather a cottage type, and their room rates range from 1800 to 4100 depending on fan or aircon room and the number of guests in each room. in addition, one has to pay 800 for food which includes lunch upon arrival, snack, dinner and breakfast the following day. meals are all buffet. rooms are clean and staff are friendly. you can reach san juan batangas by a 3 hour drive.
