What condition are the buses in?

We are planning on traveling from Puerto Princesa to El Nido by bus hopefully because the cost of a private car is pretty high and there's only two of us. We are wondering what kind of condition the buses that do this trip are in, are the buses open at the back or is it a bus with small windows that gets very hot and uncomfortable, also how often do they stop on the journey? We are there in May so hopefully we will be able to rely on better roads that in the wet season so we're hoping we will get to El Nido in quick time.

Thanks for your help.

They look like this...

I would recommend taking the van - Fort Wally Shuttle from San Jose Terminal I believe it's 600PHP per person? Takes around 6 hours to get from PP to El Nido with van that's including one stop over.

Hope that helps.

Hiya Loopy Lisa Lou

As the last poster said, the best way is to get a minivan from San Jose. Your hotel in PP will have a contact there, so book it in advance to avoid hassle. It's miles faster than the bus. The bus is very very slow.

Our mini van took about 5 hours, the bus is about 9 I think

Have fun!

Take the bus if U want to eat dust after the paved road that ends in Roxas. For a few more pesos, U can take the Fort Wally van (600 pesos/pax) Reserve seats in advance (tel: 63 0920 981 5702) For 50P more, they'll pick U up at ur hotel. Trike to San Jose terminal 60-100P. Ur hotel in EN can reserve Ur return van to PP. We found it practical to place our suitcases in plastic bags (lots of dust and handling along the way).
