we were all set to go this weekend to alona kew. tickets to bohol were bought at its peak so that was almost 17thousand pesos. calls from manila and back were made to alona kew for our reservation. we were given a bank account number for the 50% downpayment. before we deposited, we confirmed. the deposit slip was faxed to confirm our reservation.
a week before we were to fly to bohol, we were asked to call alona kew. a long distance call later, we were informed that someone did a block reservation and overlooked our reservation! we were told to reschedule our stay. they said they will refund what we paid plus penalty.
wow! after all the hassle of purchasing tickets and deciding on ALONA KEW, this is what its management does to local tourists. to think that it was on a friday that they informed us. how on earth could we book another place on such a limited time and resources? (another resort tried to charge us 2x the regular rates reasoning we were booking too soon.)
so, we had to cancel our trip, refund our tickets, ban ALONA KEW and spread the word on their incompetence. refund? they still haven't sent it.
