Real Maris Hotel

Has anyone ever stayed at this boutique style hotel? or has seen it in Boracay? any reviews or info about it would be great as there is nothing on here for this hotel.

TIA!

It caters mainly to Korean tourists and is too expensive for what it delivers. Keep on looking, except you got a really good, good deal

Please do not book at Real Maris in Boracay. Like many resorts they are over selling the resort and also completely lying when it comes to being in Station 1. They are actually in Station 2 and to make matters worse they don’t have any direct beach front instead you have to walk down a 20 meter path through shops on both sides and then you get 20 sun beds at the top of the beach in the shade. Mind you the whole area is so busy with people you won’t relax very much.

As for the resort itself the staff seem pleasant enough but the first two rooms they put us in (we are a family of five) was right next to the construction site which boarders one side of the property. We asked to move which they agreed. The two new rooms again were on the ground floor and looked at the so called restaurant (12 tables and plastic chairs). The bathroom windows were open in both rooms and the bathroom was full of mosquitoes. Also that night the local night club had a full disco going to 2am in the morning so nobody got any sleep. Suffice to say we were not impressed.

The swimming pool is very small and again the fading tiles and tired sun beds (two) gave us the impression nobody has spent any money on the place in many years. This so called 4 star resort is closer to 2 stars and if you were looking for a relaxed beach holiday this would be the worst place to stay. I guess if you are single and stay out all night this might work for you.

We ended up the next day cancelling our weeks booking. We complained that the web site was misleading and that they were in fact in Station 2 not Station 1. Also the pictures and web site indicate beachfront when in fact its 40 meters down a narrow path to the shops and then the beach. The reception staff seemed to understand what we were saying and I’m sure others had complained before but the management who didn’t seem to be onsite weren’t interested at all. They refused to refund our money so we left losing the entire amount for six days. This resort is run from Manila with people that don’t have any care for the hospitality industry and instead are more intent on making money and cutting costs. Real Maris is a Real Rip off and I can’t warn travelers enough not to stay at this resort.

We ended up moving out and stayed at the Ambassador in Paradise a resort that is genuinely in Station 1 which I highly recommend. A beautiful 5 star resort with direct access to the beach and a fantastic swimming pool, beach restaurant and accommodation. It was one of the best resorts we have stayed in having travelled extensively in Asia for over 20 years. Enjoy Boracay but stay away from Real Maris

Ambassador in Paradise is not in Station 1, you got those stations wrong. Real Maris is in fact in Station 1, Ambassador is north of Station 1.

Boracay Beach Resort is a well maintained resort, very friendly staff, no building works around it and has beach front in a nice area between D'Mall and Station 1. Boracay Beach Resort should have many reviews, check the reviews section.

Real Maris is totally in Station 1. You get the wrong information that it is located on the Station 2. Ive tayed there during Chinese New Year 2010 and there staff was really hospitable.

I also coordinated with there staff in Manila prior to my arrival and they are really accommodating. They even give us freebies when we left the Resort. They also reconfirm our flight going back to Manila.

Really Real Maris is a trully one of a kind Resort.

Just a pointers to those Travelers like us: You should coordiate clearly to your Travel Agencies clearly before making reservation to your choosen Resort.

personally I do not think the hotel should refund you unless they did something blatant or no water or such....they held the room, you could have read the other reviews which clearly stated similar issues you stated and you still booked it.....many guests find cheaper or better hotels once on Boracay and want to move after a hotel holds the room..It happened to us when we were newbies. Hotels can not afford to do that and should not have to do that....i suggest any guest to Boracay to do your homework, as most hotels will NOT do a refund once there..purely based on economics if nothing else...That is why your review under the hotel is important to warn the next guest..who may also not read the reviews till its too late anyway....

You did choose to stay in the busiest area - the party zone. Noise is to be expected. A little research on forums like these will let you know in future where to stay if you want a quiet place.

Real Maris is not a boutique Hotel. Its a Hotel Type Resort with verandas overlooking the swimming pool.

We stayed there last February and all what we paid is worth it.

Likewise, the staff and the amenities was really superb and world class.

There varieties of foods and there menu was really sumptuous.

Also all the Rooms have bath tub and a wide shower area.

It is also the most conveniently located resort in Boracay.

Its is accessible to DMall and Willy's Rock.

They have beach beds also that we have used during our swimming time.

Trully, Real Maris is a the most conveniently located Beach resort in Boracay.
