There are tour operators with desks once you arrive in Kalibo airport. No need to book in advance. They are well aware of the flight schedules to and from Kalibo so no need to worry if there will be available trips. They also facilitate your environmental, terminal and boat fees. Expect to pay P350 to P500.

Once you get to Boracay, there is a line of tricycles waiting. The fares are standard depending on which station your hotel is located.

You can book Southwest at the airport to get you to your hotel from Kalibo. its about P500. Terminal fees are P175 total each.

You do NOT need a tricycle on Boracay if you used one of the transfer agents.

1) No need to book online at all. The travel is pretty well organised and you will not be left stranded (that was my fear at least!)

2) As soon as you arrive at Kalibo airport, you have 2 choices -

a) Go to the Southwest tours desk on the left side and buy the bus +boat ticket for Boracay - costs 300 pesos per head (bus and boat included) , sit in a comfortable big air con bus.

There is a CR stop midway. The bus takes 2 hours to reach Aklan bus stop, you are transferred into a van for a short 5 minute ride to the Caticlan Aklan boat jetty. The operator pays the environment etc. fee for you (I think it was 100 pesos, and in return they gave an excellent booklet and map fo Boracay to us) .

You then sit in the bangka for a 10 minute ride to Boracay island. The jetty they choose in Boracay depends on the weather. Due to the monsoon, we were dropped at Tabon jetty (this ensured that our hotel pick up was at the wrong place waiting for us elsewhere!!). From the jetty, just take a trike. There are loads of them, and costs jsut abotu 100 pesos max (ok - it may be lesser, but after this 2 hour journey, I doubt if you are in the mood to haggle for a few pesos)

My only opinion is - you really need not take the Southwest bus - we wasted 20 minutes just waiting for their van after reaching close to the jetty (ok - there were 2 sari sari stores for us to munch and eat something, but still). We could have gone for option b

b) Step out of the airport. Take one of the minivans going to Caticlan / Aklan boat jetty. 2 hours later you will reach the boat jetty. Pay the environmental etc fee, take a boat ticket, and hop into the boat you are shown. Rest as above.

The boats and minivans are operated by the lcoal co-operative so it is all done in a pretty professional manner.
