Search the threads on how to go to Bohol. Many of them.

As for average price, please define average.

As for bars, what type of bars are you referring to? Sports bars? Girlie bars?

Sampaguita Suites may suit you as its near the nightlife of Mango Square and very affordable.

Here is your hash info.

I have not been on a run since October 2011 but it was about P300 per person at that time.

For your money, they provide water on the run then alcoholic drinks and snacks after the run. You can have non alcoholic drinks if you prefer.

Yes, you can go on a day tour of Bohol. Just get on an early morning fast ferry going to Bohol and travel back to Cebu on an evening fast ferry. My favourite is Supercat.

http://www.supercat.ph

They have an 8.30 am departure arriving 10.30am on Bohol. Then a 5.45 pm departure arriving Cebu City at 7.45 pm. That will give you about 6.5 hours of touring.

When you arrive at the pier in Bohol, there will be a multitude of people offering to take you on a tour. If you want to tour with a recommended Trip Advisor driver, there are a couple listed here. Look for them in the Visayas section

tripadvisor.com.au/Travel-g294245-c188959/Ph…

Contact them in advance and have them waiting for you at the pier on Bohol.

I have developed a do it yourself walking tour of the historical sights/sites in Downtown Cebu City. Let me know if you are interested.

For people new to Cebu City, my suggestion is that you stay near Ayala Mall. There is a whole range of accommodation there from budget to high end. What is your accommodation budget?

Ayala mall is huge. It has a restaurant area called the Terraces. It is several levels of indoor and out door dining choices. The mall has a fitness centre, cinemas, multiple money changers, cheap dining such as in the food court or at fast food restaurants such as MacDonald's and usual mall shopping.

One street will probably take care of all your night life needs, although there are many other night life options. The street is commonly known as Mango but it's real name is General Maxilom Avenue. On and just off that one street, there are

- About 14 bikini bars

- At least 6 discos and night clubs

- 2 Expat bars. Being the El Gecko Bar and Marshall's Irish Pub.

- A multitude of dining choices.

You can walk there from the hotels near Ayala Mall although you may want to take a taxi until you know where you are going.

These 3 hotels, directly opposite Ayala mall, have rooms in your price range.

However, if you are happy to be about 2 kilometres from Ayala mall, you can get a room with double bed and breakfast at Metro Park Hotel for P1100 per night,. good for 2. This place has a swimming pool. If you want some one to look at your teeth, the dentist Dr Yap operates from this site. She is popular with expats in Cebu City. The website is here

These are my favourite places to eat and drink.

- Terraces at Ayala mall. It is several levels of indoor and outdoor dining choices. My favourite restaurant is Mooons. Yes it is 3 O's. It is Mexican food. Not that i eat Mexican. I really like to go there to drink beer towers.

- Really cheap and quality food is available at the food court on the bottom level of SM Mall

- Really cheap and quality food is available at the food court on the top level of the Gaisano Metro Department Store in Ayala Mall

- Really cheap and quality food is available at the food court on the top level of the Gaisano Metro Department Store on Colon. Yes they have the same name but are in different locations.

- The Sandtrap in Banilad, Cebu City. for drinking and dining. It has 3 tennis courts , a swimming pool, an out door bar with large screen TV for sporting programmes, an indoor bar with pool table and an outdoor but undercover restaurant. Dining by the pool at night is very pleasant. By the way, it is under new management and they are in the process of renaming it the Banilad Sports Club.

- Just for drinking, although you can dine there too. Go to the Tap Room in Banilad Cebu City. It is so named because of all the different choices (taps) of beer.

- Our Place Bar

http://ourplacebarcebu.com

- El Gecko on the corner of Jakosalem and General Maxilom Avenue.

- Some other choices that don't interest me much but others like going there are Jokers Arms in Mandaue City and Marshalls Irish Pub at Mango Square

I am not recommending this but I also eat the street food at night on Colon in DownTown Cebu City. In the evening, street vendors set up along the road, where cars drive in the daytime, between Pelaez Street and Osmena Boulevarde. They sell Balut, fried chicken, rice, noodles, soup, boiled chicken eggs, corn on the cob and more. Fried chicken is P15 per piece. Foot long corn on the cob, covered with butter and salt, is P20 or P25, depending on the vendor.

At special times of the year, on Colon, the road way between Junquera and Osmena Boulevarde is closed off at night and used as an open air market for selling clothes, shoes and knick knacks. So, you can go there and check for bargains then dine cheaply at the same time.

People rave about roast pork (Lechon Baboy) in Cebu City. I can't tell the difference. When i am having a party, I just by mine by the kilogramme from the Colonnade Supermarket on Colon.

However, CNT Lechon has a very good reputation in Cebu City. This website lists their sites in Cebu City, with maps.
