Early morning Singapore arrival

Hi! Will be arriving at Changi airport at 4:40 AM on 12/29. We are staying in Singapore for 3 days. We wont be able to check in to our hotel room till noon or later. I was wondering if there was a feasible option for us to crash somewhere for a few hours and perhaps get a shower etc. We have a 6 year old and I have a feeling that he will be tired due to lack of sleep/flying etc. The transit hotel comes to mind but we are not really in transit and will also have luggage to collect from our flight, so not sure if that is really an option. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks!

Hello kst1,

You did not mention who you are flying in with. Assuming you are arriving on full serviced airlines, imo, the Transit Hotel is the best place for you to rest for a few hours before making your way to the city. Although you have left it a bit too late to make your booking as the hotel is very popular. Keep your fingers crossed that you may still get a room.

If you can't get a room at the transit hotel, then there is the Transit Lounge or free napping areas around the terminal. And there are shower facilities which you can use for a small fee.

Once you are ready to leave the airport, you can clear immigration and collect your bags from the Lost&Found counter in the middle of the Arrival Hall.

You may also want to stay at the Crowne Plaza Hotel. Contact them directly to enquire about their day room.

Good luck.

Thanks! Yes, the Transit hotels are fully booked. I am awaiting a reply from Crowne Plaza regarding day use availability. As far as using facilities at the airport, is the luggage safe as in it will be there at lost and found and can be collected without any hassle later? Thanks!

Crowne Plaza wants a full days's amount (SGD 350) for us to possibly take a room there from 6AM-12 PM. Not worth it. Will try to get by with the free airport facilities. Will just head to our hotel (The Fullerton) and see what they can do for us. I am just worried that we might end up losing most of the day because of all this and being tired etc. It is what it is.......

hello, the transit hotel would be your best option. If you can't book a room at the transit hotel the free napping area at T3 is really great thus usually busy. T1 and T2 have such area too - you may approach an information desk to get their locations.

Additionally there are many free public lounges with comfortable seats. You may consider finding a comfortable place and rest for a few hours, then have a breakfast before clearing immigration, collecting your baggage and heading to the Fullerton mid-morning.

Should you room not be available at the Fullerton, you may leave your baggage at the hotel and venture in the vicinity: the canavaugh brider over the singapore river, the Raffles landing site with a statue of Sir Stamford Raffle, the asian civilisations museum are behind the hotel; the merlion park and marina bay are opposite the hotel.

If U can Taxi to The Fullerton after U arrive, U might just Get a real Good Photograph Opportunity at The Merion Park (Across the UnderPass from The Fullerton Or use the Traffic Light up from the Bus stop, As the Sun rise.......Pretty :D

Take note of the SunRise Timing for Ur Information:

And if U like a Nice Hawker Meal, go to Golden Shoe Food Centre on Market Street (Short 3min from Ur Hotel only), the 2nd & 3rd floor is full of Nice Food from Monday to Friday 7am to 3pm (Saturday some stall do not open)

Happy Holiday
