Visiting Singapore - What do you wish people had told you?

We will be visiting Singapore in several months and I'm looking for advice. What are some of the little things you wish people had told you before you went? Anything from how to dress, what to say, what to eat, where to eat, what to buy, or anything else you wish someone had told you. I've been reading a bit and I now know that I should bring my own napkins to hawker centers and stay hydrated. Really looking forward to our visit and would like to hear your best advice for a visit to Singapore. Thanks!

You'll love the hawker markets! Great food is worth a plane ticket to Singapore, all by itself!

P.S. I've always found them to have napkins.

I wear a t-shirt, shorts, and flip-flops, just like in South Florida.

LindaRoo, hello

<<Anything from how to dress, what to say, what to eat, where to eat, what to buy, or anything else>>

1/ do not ask about the weather

2/ dress lightly, some natural fabrics, cover your shoulders and head from the sum exposure

3/ do not litter, do not bring cigarettes/ gums

4/ try Laksa singapura, FOR SURE

5/ buy what ever you like and fancy, and do not forget to claim GST on departure. Avoid shopping for electronics in Lucky Plaza and Sim Lim

6/ travel safely and have a wonderful time in SIN

If someone tells you two or three days is enough to "do" Singapore, then don't believe them. Spend a week, and preferably longer as there is so much to see, do and experience.
