Need triple room for 3 adults - suggestions please

We are 3 adults who need a room big enough to accommodate us for 5 days. Just looking for a clean and comfortable room that is close to public transport and restaurants within 500 metres.

Don't need all the frills, 3 star or above hopefully for under SGD $250 per night.

I am finding it very difficult to get triple rooms on the net. Otherwise a cheap hotel where we book a single room and a twin.

Suggestions please.

We've stayed in a Hotel 81 which had a double and a single in the room. Room was large and very clean, basic accommodation. It was in Joo Chait. so a bit of a walk to the MRT but great food around hotel.

Last week we stayed a the Golden Landmark (now called Landmark Village) which also had a double and a single in the room. We got a 4th night free deal with Zuji.com.au which was AUS$398 for the 4 nights (booked as a double not triple) but the standard of cleanliness in the bathroom left a lot to be desired!!!

Location of GLM is excellent though with Bugis MRT and plenty of food options nearby and the pool is excellent area.

We went for a walk from Bugis to Little India as saw a number of Hotel 81s that looked clean and in good positions. Hotel 81 Dickson was one and the prices are under AUS$100 per night. This is where we will try next time.

Have a look at their website and check out some reviews here. They are not all in red light areas and even so if they are it looks like a number of business travellers are now using them for cheap clean accomodation.

Only drawback is that they don't have pool usually.

At the other end of the scale we've had 3 in a shophouse room at the Intercontinental but whilst lovely very expensive +++. I'm happy to stay in the 3 star accom in an interesting area myself.

Hope this helps

You might care to look at the ''sister'' hotel of the Golden Landmark, The Albert Court Hotel. It's all the things you seem to want, very clean, friendly and with excellent MRT close by, only a couple of mins walk, Three restaurants on site, and Sim Lim square, shops and Bugis all within easy walking distance.

Try contacting the hotel direct stating you want ''Best price'', it may be cheaper than doing it online. At least it's worth a go.

Good luck with what you choose and enjoy. Alan.

Hi there, have you try to book through the hotel official website instead of third party site? Some of the third party website never provide triple room option. Give a try to Peninsula Excelsior Hotel (www.ytchotels.com.sg). They located at City Hall, which is very convenient.

I once stayed in a room at the Holiday Inn Atrium that was fitted with three single beds. Perfect for you since there will be no grumbling about who has to sleep on the cot or share a bed. You could try some of the on-line booking agencies listed here.

Although they are mainly Thai companies, they also offer some good deals for other regional destinations.

We had a room at the Novotel Clarke Quay which had two double beds and a double pull out bed, the three of us ended up with a double bed each and there was still loads of space in the room and the most fantastic view over the river too and I am sure it would be in your budget.
