best area for 2 night stay?

Hi All. We are visiting in August, but only for 2 nights. I can't decide between Orchard road area for shopping, or clark quay for nightlife. Don't get me wrong, we are late 40's, and don't want to party all night, but I do like to know what's going on. Also, what are the must see's for our quick trip. ( longer next time!) By the way, we are 2 oldies and a 17 yr old. So a hotel with adjoining rooms would be good. Also a nice pool. What would I do without TA?!

If u cant decide on shopping or Clark Quay, why not choose Bugis (intercontinental hotel) so u r between the two ? It is right by an MRT station and u r a hop away from Orchard and a short walk to the quay ! This location is cool too when u have the night market and Chinatown is nearby too !

Good Luck

I would personally recommend staying in the Orchard Road area because then you can walk to the malls, and it's easy enough to catch a cab to Clarke Quay in the evenings (or take the MRT). The Royal Plaza on Scotts hotel is a lovely hotel at a great location. I've stayed there many times. It's close to the malls on Orchard Road and is a stone's throw away from the Orchard MRT station.
