Elephant rides other than the zoo - are there any?

Are there any companies that offer Elephant rides through a jungle, rainforest etc?

Want to get out of the city and see some of the countryside and ride an elephant.

Thanks

ahhh... no... Singapore does not have any elephant rides in nature parks. There aren't any elephant wildlife park in Singapore, except for the Singapore Zoo. Singapore is a concrete jungle. It is an all built-up city with many high-rise buildings. We have residential buildings that go all the way up to 40th floor.

You will have to head to Thailand for elephant rides. I went to one while in Chiang Mai back in Nov'06. Thai Elephant Conservation Center. It was quite fun and a good experience, we enjoyed ourselves for the 1/2-day trip.

There are elephants at the Singapore Zoo, but I'm not sure whether adults could ride on it.

Singapore does not really have a country side. There's a reasonable area of rainforest but no animals in the wild. Bear in mind that Singapore is just a city country which measures approx 50 km east to west and 20km north to south with a total area of 60000+ sq km.

If you are looking for countryside, you can get some on the nature trails on Sentosa (but not a lot) - then you can go to slightly more managed areas like the SOuthern Ridges or the Botanic Gardens - or get into the real stuff with the nature reserves at Bukit Timah and Sungei Buloh wetlands. No elephant rides in them though.

For a real elephant ride (adventure), go to Bintan's elephant park (an Indonesian island 45 mins ferry ride from SIN but coz u r crossing international waters, u got to go thru' customs, etc)

bintanbagus.com/documents/bintan_elephant_pa…

The elephant ride at any zoos are a bit ridiculous, u go around a small fenced area in a very short time frame (5 mins or so ?) and the smell is overpowering. There is also quite a wait for this ride. If u go to a proper elephant park, u get to ride the ele all the way to a hilltop and view the beautiful scenery or to a forest and enjoy a trek. But be warned, ele riding is not as smooth as one might imagine esp. going uphill and downhill. They r definitely sure footed creatures but each step they make, u can either lurch forward or back.

Good Luck and have fun

Singapore itself is a city. We don't have countryside in Singapore island.

The only place non-city like place is Pulau Ubin but don't have elephant ride.

The only place had elephant is Singapore Zoo
