Fullerton - some questions

We will be in Singapore on our way to Bali for one night (Friday-Saturday). So we thought it would be great to get a central hotel. We have the Fullerton Hotel in mind, so we have some questions:

- Is it a good position to have dinner in one of the food courts?

- Could we see the light show of the Marina Bay Sands from the hotel?

- The Fullerton seems to have a Lighthouse? Is this only used as a restaurant or could we have a drink there only?

- Is it difficult to catch a taxi from the hotel to the airport on a Saturday afternoon? Our flight will be at 16:30. Or should we better take the shuttle or the MRT?

- How far is it to the Flyer?

- Is there a shop nearby the hotel that sells Iphones?

Hope my questions are not to detailed ;-). Thanks a lot in advance.

Cheers.

For food, Its pretty close to LauPa Sat, and there are other smillar places within striking distance.

View of the light show depends on which way your room faces (but its just a short walk to the bay for a strght on view)

Take a taxi, they should be plenty or the concierge will make sure there is one ready to take you to the airport.

Around 15-20min walk to the Flyer

The closest Apple retailer is probablyithe one in Funan IT Mall.

Lau Pa Sat is a Hawker Centre and on the Friday night they would be selling bbq satay which is delicious. They close the street behind and cook outside. There is an overwhelming amount of stalls in the Centre.

Ask the Hotel for a room facing the Marina Bay Sands.

I don't know if the Lighthouse serve drinks only but their sister hotel is just a few buildings away and they have a fantastic roof top bar. There is a swimming pool there as well and the ambience is great. It faces the Marina Bay Sands.

We walked down to the Flyer but it must be 20-30 minutes away. You can get a good view of Singapore from the top of the Marina Bay Sands and there is a bar there as well. There is also a food court at the Marina Bay Sands, the building that is closer to the bay and includes the Casino.

Oh wow! Isn't the internet great and fast ;-)! Thanks a lot for the detailed informations!!!

Nice suggestion to have drinks at the roof top bar of the sister hotel. And we both love satay!

Satay stalls at LauPa Say are there every night from around 7pm when they shut part of Boon Tat Street to set up the stalls.

hi, for food there is also Makansutra Gluttons Bay, it is next Esplanade on your way to the Singapore Flyer. You eat al fresco by the marina.

There is also the relatively new 'Food Trail' which I quite like at the base of the flyer itself.

When are you coming ? If during f1 then taxis at Fullerton is a problem. Otherwise it will not be an issue on Saturday around 1500 hrs sat.
