Which Area to Stay?

Hi,

We are staying for a night in Singapore as a stopover and was just wondering if it would be worthwhile staying in Chinatown for the night. We've already had stopovers in Singapore before and stayed on Orchard Road and the Marina area. Is it worthwhile staying somewhere different?

Thanks in advance.

If you didnt even visit Chinatown previous, is would be a good choice. If you did visit, you already should know if the area appeals/intetests you. Staying somewhere new/different can be fun, but some prefer their usual favourites, and there is something nice about part of a stay being in a familiar location. In the end it comes back to what type of traveler an individual is

Thanks, I haven't been to Chinatown before and thought it might be fun to see other parts of Singapore we haven't yet been to besides staying in the usual places!

Hi,

When is this going to be? If this is going to be in mid January to early February, then I suggest that you avoid Chinatown. It can be "crazy " in Chinatown in the weeks before Chinese New Year. Stay somewhere else and visit Chinatown and experience the festive atmosphere but do not stay there.

You may want to consider Little India. Walking distance to the heritage area of Kampong Glam and also Bugis.

I think China Town, Marina Bay Sand , Little India, Orchard is kind of a MUST area you should visit.

Each areas have their own sense. You will find various of delicious plates, cheap souvenirs at China Town, Fun at Marina Bay Sand, Cheap goods at Little India, High-class shopping time at Orchard or Suntec.

If you are kind of adventurer, you can spend the time at the Zoo and Park.

For me, 3 days is enough to cover all :)

Enjoy.
