Changi Airport Transit hotel/lounge

We arrive in Singapore with Scoot at approx 5pm from Gold Coast. We depart Singapore the next morning at 6.30am with Silk Air. These flights were purchased separately. We are a family of 3 - 2 adults & 1 15yr old daughter = 3 adults. Are we able stay overnight in the Transit lounge/hotel? If so, can you explain how we go about this? Thanks.

Hello, both Scoot and SilkAir operate in and out from Terminal 2.

On arrival clear immigration, collect your baggage, clear customs and head to the Silkair check-in counters. SilkAir allows early check-in up to 48h before flight. Once you have your MI boarding pass you can re-enter the transit area where the transit hotel is whenever you want.

Assuming all of you are aussie passport holders, you don't need a visa before arriving to Singapore.

Before entering back in the transit area if you want to visit Singapore you can take a taxi or the MRT to the city. There are left baggage counters landside and airside at the airport if you have cabin luggage you want leave before heading to the city.

The transit hotel is popular among travellers so you may want to book ahead.

You have nearly 12 hours to spare. You could take the MRT or taxi to the city centre. You could spend the night either in the lounge or hotel. Changi lounges are relatively comfortable compared to most other airports in the world so if you want to save $ you could just find a comfortable corner to sleep at.

SilkAir allows early check-in up to 48h before flight. So after collecting your luggage in SIN, just proceed to the check-in counter ( Ter. 2 CHECK-IN ROW -4), check-in anew and enter airside where transit hotels are located.

DO NOT NOT forget to book transit hotel in advance.

Thanks so much - would you believe they are booked out! Any other ideas or suggestions for hotel for one night (considering we have to leave quite early the next morning). Are taxi's to the city expensive?

You can check in for Silk Air flights in the transfer lounge airside in Terminal 2. No need to go through immigration or collect luggage. Though Scoot may try to charge you for this with their Scoot Through package, you would have to pay if your flights were the other way around ( flying in on Silk Air and out on Scoot).

You can ask to be put on the wait list for the Transit Hotel.
