Half day accommodation in singapore

Hi

We are looking at booking a room for part of a day, would be 9an - 7pm. We are coming in from a cruise at 7am in the morning, and not flying out of singapore until 10.20pm, and thought booking a room for the day would be a good idea. Does anyone know of other hotels apart from the Crown Plaza at the airport that has this facility.

Thanks

Otoia

Budget hotels like Fragrance and Hotel 81 used to rent rooms by the hour but this may have changed. Some travellers may not be comfortable with the fact that other patrons are renting the rooms for bedroom activities.

Perhaps you can opt for cruise fly check in services (if you travel by the participating airline) to free yourself from luggage and you can do some sightseeing in the city. mbccs.com.sg/passenger-guide/cruisefly-flycr…

Alternatively, if your airline allows early check in, you can also check in your luggage before exploring the city or nearby areas.

Otoia - Minxbaby is pointing out that some of those hotels that hire by the hour do so because they are letting the rooms out in the red light district or for the same purposes - as well as to travellers looking simply for a day room. Some people will not like that idea.

On the whole issue of what to do here - essentially you want to get rid of the luggage to free you up do do what you want - the rest of the time is easy enough to while away a day in Singapore doing the activities of your choice. Qantas opens that desk at 10am which is a couple of hours after you could get there, so you might want to just use the left luggage facility, drop cases and unneeded hand luggage and then go into the city and do whatever you want for the day - head back early evening and check in ready for the 10pm flight out. You can shorten the stay in Singapore if you want to head to the airport early and crash out - be that in the transit hotel, or the nap areas, or a lounge - whichever of the choices you go for.

It simply comes down to now much you want to pay.

Almost every major international standard hotel (especially the chained ones) all have what is known as a Day Use rate, but it's never advertised online - because it depends heavily on availability. The use is usually for 8hrs, and the rate is approximately 25% off their Best Available Rate (BAR rate) *on their own website* (not third party). The hours of use depends in each property, but traditionally like 8~4, 9~5 etc. Some airport hotels offer hours that suits late arrival/early departures such as 11~7. I've used Day Use rates at Ritz Carlton and Marina Bay Sands.

You will need to contact them directly for rates. But be warned, it's not cheap.
