This is the tour plan so far. I want to add a couple more days to the tour before saying goodbye to Singapore and heading to KL for a 4/5 days trip. Kindly have a look and suggest some tips. As I will be traveling with an elderly party, I have not added the Zoo and Universal Studio to my tour list. Few things I have added for myself like iFly and Casinos, and I am sure that I can make them go with me on those just as a viewer LOL. Singapore night life and parties, etc are out of the list, I think I will have to come back by myself some other time for those.

Waiting for suggestions/tips.

Thanks and Cheers

Edit: Sadly Sands Skypark Observation Deck + Buffet Lunch option is not available on 9th/10th Aug. So have to book some other day and stay on 9th in Singapore for the fireworks as well.

All this in ONE morning ? To quote John McEnroe ''You cannot be serious'', You really, really need to slim down EVERY day, you'd need Concord to get round to everything and then you wouldn't get it all done.

One or two things per morning./afternoon if you're to get any value from your visit, for example you need two-three hours for the Botanical gardens alone, certainly a minimum of two hours, if you rush round like a whirling dervish.

It is of course and with respect just my opinion, but ''do less and see more''. Other may disagree with me, but you set yourself an unbelievable programme and with the aged parents, impossible I say.

I think the OP has signed up for local guided tours for Day 2 & 3, which are okay if he's done his homework. That said, the Yong Gallery closes at 7pm (& won't open on weekends) so he might want to double-check the timing.

1-Altitude is more of a nighttime scene. I'm not sure the rooftop bar is accessible before dusk, but don't quote me. They do have indoor restaurants that open earlier, so unless the OP wants to eat there instead...

Why not spend the whole first day for Sentosa? Also, what does Siloso Beach Walk refer to? It's a listed address for the iFly, which you're planning to do the next day.

Albert Hawker Centre for dinner will be underwhelming. The place is very cramped, rather unkempt by evening (the cleaners can't keep up with the dining crowds), & has only one small row of Indian/Muslim hawkers. I suggest you to go to the nearby Bugis malls (or Race Course Road or Haji Lane) instead for meals, dietary requirements permitting.

ddiggs,

I do respect every opinion and every person in general. That's why I invited anyone to post for suggestions here :)

Btw, Day 2, it's a fixed package tour around 3-4 hours total (includes pickup and drop from Hotel). So guessing we will just pass through these places, 10-15min stops at each at most. Day 2 got another tour (fixed) in the evening after lunch and rest for few hours - Chinatown Night Tour with Dinner from 6:30pm to 1030pm which includes dinner.

I thought I can't do all the trips all by myself, so better get few fixed trips in between so can still see the most of Singapore. And both trips are from hotel lobby, so less stress for me managing the traveling aspect myself LOL Hope this make sense.

I did leave ample free time for rest, so less pressure for everyone (including myself)

Day 1 - Evening Free

Day 4 - Morning Free

Day 6 - Morning Free

Day 7 - Morning Free

Btw.. I just notice, Day 8 is missing for MSB and I had put Day 7 by mistake.

I can put Day 9 Full day Hotel Stay/Rest as well...and if possible, can add 2 more days to do other things or visit other places. Any suggestions? Or you think I will just spread out these 8 days and make it a 10 day tour instead?

blitzonic,

Yes for Day 2 and 3 being local tours. Actually Day 3 is with a "1 day Singapore City Pass" + Free Hotel transfers. 1-Altitude is open from 1030am till 6pm for public (the night scene comes after that). I am not willing to take elder travelers to a night club, specially in Singapore :D

For Day 3, I was thinking doing the flyer 1st and then the 1 hr DUKW tour (flyer is starting point) and then 1-Altitude using the free hop-on hop-off bus (dropping us back at the flyer for lunch) and then take the bus/transfer back to our hotel. May use groupon for that Indian buffet place near the flyer, though bad reviews on TA, but few more Indian places for lunch near the flyer or food walk near flyer itself?

Day 4 is half day local tour of Sentosa from 2pm onwards. Siloso beach is just for viewing purpose in the free time we will get during break time in between.

On Day 5, after iFly (which will take 2-3 hours), I am planning on going SEA Aquarium, then lunch, then hit the casino for an hr or 2 and then to beach for the southernmost point. for the evening before heading out. I think it's called Palawan Islands.

Thanks for the info on Yong Gallery and Albert Hawker Centre. The Yong Gallery comes in the package and I will make sure we do that tour on a weekday. As for Albert Hawker Centre, I have heard good reviews here on TA, so want to visit for any meal during my stay atleast once.

I like these discussions. Feels like I got friends all around to help me here. Thx guys. Please correct me if I am wrong on anything here. My tour plan is all done by myself reading from TA and doing google searches.

Oh good, I'm so glad it's a ''tour'', my apologises for misunderstanding your post. I'm old and probably too senile to offer any advice these days.

I'll second the Albert Hawker Centre as ''underwhelming'', The Blu Jazz Café in Bali Lane is REALLY nice and not too expensive.

Enjoy Singapore.

ddiggs,

No need for apologies my friend. I did try my best to elaborate on my trip with a day by day plan and somehow manage to miss few little details here and there. Sorry about that :)

To tell you the truth, my plan for a Singapore/KL trip started with me taking my mother anywhere out of India, as she has never been outside India till now. So I wanted to do this trip. And then she went on talking with our neighbors and they wanted to join us, and me being the nicest guy in town, couldn't say no :)

Back to the topic, Albert Food Court, I can squeeze for lunch some day. Is that a good place for lunch sometime instead? As for jazz (one of my fav.), don't think my company would be too excited LOL

If I had more private time, I would like to visit one of those Room Escape game venues and try the flight experience as well. But then I just can't leave the ladies in the hotel and me off touring by myself.

I really appreciate you accompanying your mom and her friends on a tour, but the whole itinerary sounds a bit touristy.I understand you want to cover everything in Singapore, but half of the attractions mentioned are not worth it or duplicated. For example, you needn't do both Underwater World and SEA aquarium. Also Wings of Time and Marina Sands Laser show are both laser shows, you mentioned Bugis twice. If possible do Singapore Flyer at night.I'm actually overwhelmed by the number of places mentioned by you,so quoted a few points. I once again want to tell you it's very nice of you to accompany not just your mom but a whole group of elderly ladies on a foreign trip.

Hi Neeharika J,

Thanks for your input. "Bugis" on Day 3 is with the evening local tour, so I am guessing we won't get much time to look around. Day 6 is for personal tour/shopping and as many suggested here and in other forums, Bugis is the place for great local food/shopping, so want to try that in our own personal time.

As for Sentosa, I am thinking to skip the iFly experience for some other time, cause that will clearly take 2-3 hours to prepare only for few minutes of the actual flying experience. I don't mind the cost, but the time taken in that activity might bore the company I am with.

So I am thinking of a 1 day sentosa full day trip instead. Only problem is - everyone add the "Dolphin Lagoon + Underwater World" in their packages. And yes, I want to visit the SEA Aquarium and willing to skip the DL+UW. The "wings of time" is a sentosa activity for the evening before heading out of the island while the MSB laser show will be a free one while visiting the MSB observation deck + buffet lunch for a day. Nothing wrong to see more lights in the night sky on a vacation :)

I have actually stretch my 8 days into a 10 day tour already plus the 3/4 days in KL + 2 days in Genting after that, as I am still waiting for the replies from various Hotels for accommodation rates and preferences.

I don't mind the company, one of them being my mom and her friends. As of now, for Aug trip, there are 3 of us and for October there might be 6 travelers. So I am a bit worried if I can actually handle that by myself. I don't want any bad weather in between my trips, that would seriously mess with my daily tour plans.

Thank you again for your kind words. Really appreciated. I hope many more contributors will add their tips/suggestions here so I can gather more info before my trip.

Thank you all :)
