I ordered a "new" ipad, the one which was just announced last week. It is due to arrive at my house on the 16th. I wanted to get it before coming to Argentina so I could bring it with me instead of my excrutiatingly slow net book.
The one I ordered was the 32Gigabyte Wi-Fi only model. Ie. no "4G" or 3G or "over the air" connectivity like you get from cell phone service providers.
After thinking about it for a couple of days, I was thinking I might have been better off getting the 4G model with 64G of memory.
But alas, if I re-ordered, the 4G model would not arrive in time for me to bring it to Argentina.
Here are my options:
1. Bring the Wi-fi model I ordered to Argentina and be happy with keeping it, as by the time I get back to the US it will be too late to return it.
2. Just bring my crummy netbook to Argentina. Send back the iPad as soon as it arrives. When I get back to the US in April, order the 4G 64Gigabyte model.
3. Bring the Wi-fi model to Argentina. Someone suggested to me that these might be in high demand there, and that I could easily sell it by the end of my trip. This option sounds a little uncertain to me with regards to: a. are they actually in demand? b. finding a buyer. c. avoiding scams d. being paid in ARS which I wouldn't be able to change back into USD.
OK what do you guys think? Really, I am asking what you think about option #3, whether it is realistic or just one of those ideas that is good in theory only!
