2 weeks in Argentina: Buenos Aires-Mendoza-Iguazu

Hello,

We are a couple with a 11 year old boy travelling to Argentina this August for the first time. We will be arriving in Buenos Aires, then would like to visit Mendoza and the famous Iguazu Falls. What would be the best travel option between these cities? Should we do a round trip from BA-Mendoza, then BA-Iguazu? or is it possible to go from Mendoza to Iguazu or vice versa? We want to do some bus with some internal flight, what is the best option?

Thank you for replying~!~

Your travel mode is going to depend on how much time you are spending in Argentina. Bus travel between any of those places are going to require overnight bus travel. You really lose an entire day with that type of travel since you don't really rest the same on the bus.

Have a look at www.plataforma10.com for bus schedules.

Air travel is available between all of those locations.

Thank you. I found out round trip flight from BA-Iguazu and BA-Mendoza for around USD250 each. I think this is good price for an internal flight, so we can spend more time exploring both places. however I have read somewhere that if we buy tickets in the US, when we check in at BA airport, they might impose an additional taxes or fees on these tickets as foreign travelers. Is that true? Could you please advise?

Thank you very much!

If the airtickets are designated for Argentine citizens, then they can charge you the difference in price for foreigners.

On the airline websites, you need to click on US as your home country to obtain the correct price. If you clicked on the Argentine tab then the price is incorrect.

The tickets are booked from Expedia website, I assume that is OK?

Yes, tickets from Expedia are fine.
