Chilean recluse spider

Just read about these critters in my guidebook. How much of a concern are they for travelers to chile? Thanks!

Low. It would be very unlikely that you would get bitten.

In well-kept clean respectable lodging very low unless you go looking for them. Just be aware of the symptoms before the bite gets too infected if such a rare event does occur. The paranoid should shake out their clothing (especially if hung against the wall) and shoes to be on the safe side.

Don't worry about them. While numbering in the millions they are terrified of movement. They only come out at night when everyone is asleep. lf bitten the victim feels nothing and passes in their sleep. Autopsy reports usually sat they passed in their sleep of a heat attack.
