16 days in Argentina and Chile

Hello, I fly into Buenos Aires on a Friday next week and depart 16 days later out of Santiago. I plan on exploring BA that first week while taking a language course, and then flying down to Ushuaia for 2-4 days before flying back up to Santiago for a couple of days. But nothing is really set in stone except for my points of ingress/egress. I'm curious to hear anyone's suggestions on what they would do with a week in BA and another week split b/w Tierra del Fuego and/or Patagonia and Santiago. Thanks, Brian.

This is not the forum for BA advice. However, you will find it relatively quiet as January is the peak vacation month in Argentina. The best thing in Buenos Aires is the food and the theatre. But,unless you have good Spanish then the latter will be difficult and in January many theatres will be dark. There is excellent shopping, especially for all types of leather, including shoes, and given the unofficial or blue exchange rate there will be bargains.
