Three nights in or near-ish to Santiago

Hello

I just started a thread about Easter Island after a business trip to Santiago (and was it crazy?).

My other option is to spend three nights in or near Santiago and sightsee a little more locally. I would have all day Friday-Sat-Sun, and Monday night I'd fly home to the east coast of the US.

With three nights/three days, what would you do?

Is there anything within say a three hour flight (that would get me back to the airport Monday afternoon!) that I should consider doing instead of Easter Island?

This would be in June.

Muchas Gracias

Atacama Desert? The scenery is otherworldly.

you could not fly anywhere. You could spend a night in Valparaiso, or in Santa cruz in the heart of the Colchagua Valley or go up to one of the ski resorts or perhaps to one of the excellent thermal spas around Santiago. Of course, you can also spend sometime in Santiago, itself.
