Tipping Protocol

Hi Everyone-

We're leaving tonight for Quito and then Cuenca! Quick question: would someone please enlighten me on tipping practices in Ecuador: taxis, bartenders, servers, hotel staff, etc. Thanks!!!

Taxis--no tip expected. You can round up the fare if you don´t have exact change.

Servers--Ten percent service fee is added to your bill. You can leave some of your change for the server if you like.

I don´t know about bartenders, but would guess the 10% service is added to the tab.

Hotel staff--not expected but nice.
