If you are landing in Guayaquil, and have to go a long distance, what are the names of some companies that provide drivers? Where do you find them upon arrival? And about how much do they run per hour or half day? I assume you are suggesting that an American NOT rent a car and drive.

1. Re: Transportation

Sorry I don't have any help to offer on this. I'd check in guidebooks (I find the Footprint guidebook to be particularly complete) and also ask at your hotel. I find it pretty expensive.

If you would rent a car in London or Rome or Spain or Portugal, then go ahead and do it here, particularly if you speak some Spanish. But most folks do not recommend this because driving is a bit crazy, roads are not well-indicated, and if you have an accident, it'd suck that you don't speak Spanish....
