hotel recommendations

We are planning a two week tour, of inland and amazon, ending in quito, can anybody recommend a hotel for a relaxing two night stay after what might be a very tiring 16 days travelling. We would like somewhere with a pool preferably.

Thank you in advance

Yvonne

With a large selection of good affordable b&b's, hotels, hosterias, etc., why in the world would one want to stay in an American, French, etc. hotel while in Ecuador. There are plenty of good Ecuadorian accommodations which are wonderful.

After a tour of Galapagos, Salinas will be a bit of a let down. The beach is not particularly pretty and the water cold. On the plus side, it is a well developed city with lots of condos, restaurants, clubs and casinos. If you are set on the beach, Salinas is not a bad choice, but if you want to see something different, the Sierra is really the place to be. The Sierra has a nice mix of modern, colonial and indigenous influences, and of course, stunning topography.

Not many hotels in Quito have swimming pools...it is a little cold at 10,000 feet to swim. The only one I know of is Hotel Quito.

The Swiss Hotel has a pool and so does the Marriott.
