Where to store luggage at airport or in Quito ?

We will be arriving back to the Quito airport, from our trip to the islands, on a Sunday at 3:45 PM. Our flight to the USA lives Quito airport on Monday at 12:55 AM. IS there anywhere at the airport or in Quito that we can store our luggage? Is it even worth it to make the trip to Quito and back to the airport? We're not sure how long the taxi ride from the airport to Quito is? Any help would be much appreciated....thanks.

Unfortunately, there are nolockers at the airport yet. Minimize luggage, or if you are staying overnight there before cruise, the hotel will often hold for you. Search the forum for cab costs, but I would recommend using a hotel closer to the airport which may even have shuttles for a small fee. Store luggage there and arrange for a day room before flight home. Often these can be had for u der $50 and let you get changed and shwered, maybe a nap before that late flight.

I don´t know if it would be worth your time or $ to travel to Quito for the layover. It will take you approximately an hour to go to quito at that time and probably 45 minutes to get back late at night and the cost would be $25/each way. And since this is sunday afternoon/evening, many of the sights and restaurants will be closed in Quito. It will be nearly deserted actually.
