We are a family of 4 from Australia going to Easter Island, Lima, Cusco, Machu Picchu, Lake Titicaca and then up to Guayaquil and Galapagos Islands, in September. Trying to find out if we need to have the Yellow Fever Vaccine. From research I've done I know that the areas we are going to are not yellow-fever prone areas, but the vaccination clinic I rang yesterday says to get back into Australia from South America we have to have the certificate. I do not want my children having the vaccine unnecessarily when the American vaccination websites are saying yellow fever vaccine is not required or recommended for travelling to these areas. We are flying in and out of Santiago which apparently you don't need yellow fever vaccine for Chile, but the travel clinic is saying for Peru and Ecuador we definitely need it? Is this correct? Very hard to find out information on Australian rules for vaccinations.
