You're missing the sacred valley unless you plan to that as actor from Cusco.

Your itinerary looks good and do-able. Quite similar to what I did when I was in Peru.

thanks. I put in a good few days in Cusco to be able to visit places in the area like the sacred valley. I might add an extra day to my final list - possibly in arequipa at the start but not sure.

What do you think the weather will be like for the trip above?

The temperatures for September this year is between 6 to 23 deg celcius. Sunny in Arequipa but rainy in Cusco.

Spend a couple of days in the Sacred Valley instead of having to go all the way back to Cusco city

Are you aware of the need to book the Inca trail well in advance? You are correct in that you can visit villages in the valley on day trips from Cuzco. Public bus is the cheapest. Cuzco is the highlight of your trip. In terms of total things to see it even out does MP. The rest of your itinerary looks good.

Would you recommend doing sacred valley before machu picchu? I am thinking in terms of preparing for the altitude of the hike which is why I have a good few days in Cusco beforehand as well.
