Sim Card

I will be flying to Peru in 3 days.Just had my Blackberry cellphone unlocked and am hoping to get a sim card in Peru.We have a layover in Lima for a few hours then off to Iquitos.Does anyone know where the best place to purchase one is?

Right next to the food court on the second floor goin towards the tax payment and security check,you will find all the Cell phone companies.

I suggest you rent instead a Claro phone for S/. 60 which gives you about 60 minutes to make phone calls and all incoming calls are free of charge.

You can get SIM cards from Movistar and Claro (phone companies), from S/. 15.00 (prepaid) and then just add credit for what you need (you can add credit from S/. 3.00)

Other option is to rent a phone from one of these companies.

Claro has better coverage within the country, so I would recomend that brand.

I got a Claro prepaid sim in Lima. I think 15 soles which included some credit and then you can buy recharge cards just about everywhere. I waited ages before I got around to getting one and now wish I hadnt because it was actually really easy and inexpensive.
