Machu Picchu in December

We are looking for a winter break vacation for our family with college age kids end of December. Is this a good option?

Be sure to book in advance - it seems that over Christmas & New Year's holiday season is popular. It will be rainy season - but it won't rain all day, and maybe not every day.

December can be good and as mentioned above, can be busy around Christmas and New Year’s, and yes rain is likely. If you will be here during New Years, the main plaza can be something to experience if you don’t mind a large mob scene, and I have 3 words of caution, "Drunks with Fireworks".
