Basic information for organized trip

Hello,

we've just booked our trip and I'd like to know how demanding is going around. I know that there is some parking for buses but how far away from ruins it is? How big distance usually people go? Is it good to have some special shoes for worse terrain?

Thank you!!!!

The buses stop right outside the entrance.

Try searching for a 3-D map of the site. The main points of interest will take a couple of hours walking. You could just stick to one level if you have mobility problems, but obviously you will see less of the site.

Underfoot, if is grass, and rock steps.

Its uneven terrain and mostly coblestones

You should also consider the altitude issue.

Bring comfortable walking shoes

Bus parks at entrance but there is a walk up into the ruins themselves - just take it slowly you don't need to rush, everyone spreads out once you get there . Take water and some snacks- it says you can't take food so we didn't but we were starving by the afternoon and other groups had food just be respectful and eat discretely and take your rubbish away of course. There is a luggage hold at the entrance if you need. Take change for the toilets they are only at the entrance too- grab your loo paper before you go into the stall! . Runners or lightweight walking boots are fine. We did extra walks to inca bridge (short)and sun gate (long and it was midday so hot). We got on the bus in rain, arrived in mist and left in the sunshine so be prepared for all weather. Enjoy your trip-you'll need heaps of space on your camera the views are amazing.
