A free day at Urubamba - Sacred Vally

We will be visitin Peru in July and have a free day at Urubamba - Sacred Valley.

I was wondering what else is worth visiting at that area except from Macchu Picchu, Ollantaytambo and Pisac which we will be visiting the next day.

Thinking of visiting Maras, Moray, Yucay etc.

Can someone advice me??

Thanks!!

www.peruadventuretours.com

has great tours of the area

or in Jan hired a driver/guide

for $25 saw all the areas that way...

in addition to above Calca was nice

and hot springs

Rafting tours especially Apurimac are great.

Have fun,

I used Peru Adventure Tours last month and would NOT recommend them. They are very unorganized and extremely overpriced for the service offered.

Oops - I meant to add that Maras and Moray are a great option. We enjoyed seeing both and the valley views on the way are excellent as well.

If you want a driver & guide for your visit to the Sacred Valley, contact Rodrigo at the Kuychi Rumi, e-mail: info@urubamba.com, or Sofia, sofiabarreda@gmail.com.

Either one of them can arrange an excellent guide & a driver for you.

Def visit Maras & Moray. In Urubamba, you can visit El Seminario Pottery & have a nice lunch at El Huacatay. Some also visit Chinchero. Between Cusco & Pisac, you can visit Awana Kancha, a llama farm & weaving center (with shop selling Alpaca goods). We didn't go to Yucay, so I can't advise on that.

Also in the Sacred Valley, there are opportunities for horsebackriding, mountain biking, whitewater rafting, and visits to weaving communities like Huilloc. Rodrigo or Sofia can arrange those, too.

Just got back from our day tour at Maras, Moray and Chinchenero if I spelled that correct.

I really liked the Maras salt mines which were really great and the terraces of Moray..

I will post pics as soon as I get home from our trip.

Tomorrow we will visit Machu Picchu which I really cant wait.

PERU IS GREAT!!!!
